“In Christ” “Having it all”
2
What we believe God loves us We’ve messed up There’s an eternal perspective We have choices God took the initiative Choices have consequences
3
“In Christ” Ephesians 1:3-10 (NCV) Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world. That is, in Christ, he chose us before the world was made so that we would be his holy people – people without blame before him.
4
“In Christ” Ephesians 1:3-10 (NCV) Because of his love, God had already decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. That was what he wanted and what pleased him and it brings praise to God because of his wonderful grace.
5
“In Christ” Ephesians 1:3-10 (NCV) God gave that grace to us freely, in Christ, the One he loves. In Christ we are set free by the blood of his death, and so we have forgiveness of sins. How rich is God's grace, which he has given to us so fully and freely. God, with full wisdom and understanding, let us know his secret purpose.
6
“In Christ” Ephesians 1:3-10 (NCV) This was what God wanted, and he planned to do it through Christ. His goal was to carry out his plan, when the right time came, that all things in heaven and on earth would be joined together in Christ as the head.
7
“In Christ” 3 Aspects 1. God’s planned it all 2. God’s provided it all 3. God’s paid for it all
8
“In Christ” God’s planned it all Before the world was made To spend eternity with Him There’s purpose behind everything God does
9
“In Christ” God’s provided it all We have EVERY spiritual blessing God’s “divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness” (2Peter1:3) There is a destiny for us all
10
“In Christ” God’s paid for it all “In Christ we are set free by the blood of His death and so we have forgiveness of sins” Through Jesus’ death we get eternal life “God is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to be lost, but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives” (2Peter3:9)
11
“In Christ” Moving Onwards Questions to consider What’s my response to the challenge of life? To live it my way or allow God to shape it and direct it? Where’s my security? In what I’ve done and achieved or in what Jesus has done?
