What Is It? An FLDOE online tool to verify teacher rosters

Why Are We Doing It? Section 1012.34(8), Florida Statutes requires the State Board of Education to establish a process to permit instructional personnel to review the class roster for accuracy and to correct any mistakes relating to the identity of students for whom the individual is responsible. Verify for value-added data

The Verification “Rules” 1.In order for a student to be attached to a teacher the following must apply: 1.For Year-Long Courses: Students need to be in survey 2 and 3 2.For Semester Courses: – Semester 1 courses: Students need to be in Survey 2 (October) – Semester 2 courses: Students need to be in Survey 3 (February) NOTE: Number of days a student is present is taken into account in the VAM formula

The Verification “Rules” 2.Teacher leaves of 45 or more consecutive working days will have an automatic review 3.All changes made by teachers need to be administratively approved 4.Once changes are approved, teachers are NOT allowed to make additional changes in the system

The Process Plan Information will be communicated to – Administrators – Teachers Hard copies sent to schools: – Instruction sheets and sign-off sheet

The Process Plan Teachers sign-off that they received the following – Instructions to include: The link to the Roster Verification Tool – Teacher Log-in ID – Instructions to access the system The link to Reports Manager to get an electronic copy of Survey 2 and 3 rosters Ethical statement

The Process Plan Using the rules: – Teachers verify their own rosters – School administrators verify EACH teacher’s roster – Review of teachers with leave of 45 days or more – Area Superintendents approve EACH school’s roster – District completes final submission
