Goals for This Year Let’s begin with the end in mind! To know what bullying is and how it affects people. Learn how to help each other. Learn how and when to tell a trusted adult about bullying. Learn how the 7 Habits can help us stop bullying.

TODAY’S Goal To know what bullying is and how it affects people.

Remember! Whenever we talk about bullying during this class, we will never say the name of a child who is bullying others or a child who is being bullied. We will not talk about people; we’ll only talk about bullying behaviors.

What is bullying? Bullying happens whenever someone uses his or her power unfairly and repeatedly to hurt someone.

What is power? Physical Strength Social Skills

What is power? Verbal Ability Our personal power helps us out most if we use it to be helpful, not to be hurtful!

What are some bully behaviors? Hurting someone’s body or things. Hurting someone’s feelings.

Bullying behaviors continued…. Hurting someone’s friendships.

Feelings How does someone who is being bullied feel? sad afraid mad alone embarrassed

Consequences First Offense: Parent Phone Call and Conference Time out in the office for the rest of the day Second Offense: Parent Phone Call and Conference 1 Day Out of School Suspension Third Offense: Parent Phone Call and Conference 3 or More Days of Out of School Suspension Every offense requires Mrs. Ashley to do an investigation and forms to be filled out and sent to the county office.
