5  Purpose – to measure students’ achievement in constructing meaning from a wide variety of texts  60% of the test will contain literary text  40% of the test will contain informational text  Includes two, sixty minute reading tests & a Norm Referenced fifty minute test  All items multiple choice

6  Reading selections will represent a range of reading ability within the grade  Will include reading levels appropriate for both the beginning and end of the grade  Each passage will range between 100-700 words, with an average of 350 words per passage  Average of 6-8 passages  Average of 50-55 questions
