Building Bridges: Factors in Bridge Design - #1 What is the span of the bridge? Span means the length of the bridge from one side (bank) to the other – 40-50 cm in length

Building Bridges: Factors in Bridge Design - #2 What are the requirements? A block 35 cm in length and 4 cm in height must be able to pass under it 36.0 cm – 35.0 cm = 1. 0 cm (length left) 5.08 cm – 4.0 cm = 1.08 cm (underneath bridge) NO room for a substructure (underneath roadway)
