 He was born on January 30 th, 1882.  He was very wealthy.  The first 8 years of his childhood he learned by private tutors.  His first day of school.

3  He was born on January 30 th, 1882.  He was very wealthy.  The first 8 years of his childhood he learned by private tutors.  His first day of school was in Germany.

4  FDR went to Harvard University.  Harvard is devoted to excellence in teaching learning and research.  Harvard has produced a lot of presidents.

5  FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt got married on March 17, 1905.  They were second cousins.  Eleanor was 19 and Franklin was 22

6  FDR was first got polio on July 28 th, 1921and he was 39.  He went to Warm Springs, GA to help his polio.  He liked it so much he bought a house and called it The Little White House

7  FDR was elected governor of NY in 1928.  Before that he was in the NY senate.  He started to began as governor on Jan. 1 st, 1929

8  He was elected president in 1932.  He was also the 32 nd president of the USA.  He was 50 years old when he was elected.

9  FDR created The New Deal for people who didn’t have jobs or homes.  It started when the banks closed.  He wanted everybody in America to have a house and a job

10  The Fireside Chats were a series of thirty evening chats between the time of 1933 to 1944 by president Franklin D. Roosevelt.  Roosevelt liked talking on the radio because it let him not show his polio symptoms in the public eye.

11  FDR served as President for 4 terms and the rule was that you could only serve for 2 terms in the USA.  He died still while he was serving in his fourth term as President.

12  The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, Hawaii to get America involved.  It actually started on September 1st,1939 and lasted till September 2nd,1945.

13  He died on April 11 th, 1945.  The entire US was devastated of their lose.  Even though he is dead people still honor him today.
