4 National Governing Bodies They run the sports organisation and decide on the following: Finance Fixtures Discipline Team selection Coaching Promotion

5 Contd The national governing bodies do not organise the above points at all levels, BUT they make rules and issue the guidelines which all regional and local organisations have to follow.

6 Club Structure All clubs must have the same structure in place Chairperson Vice chair person Secretary Treasurer Committee members members

7 Contd All of these people would be elected to these positions on the board. They would be voted for every year All new ideas are voted on by the committee members

8 Functions of the Clubs Provision of facilities Organisation of competitions Promotion of their sport Encouragement for the juniors Community status and involvement

9 Local Authority Provision They have to provide facilities for the local people to take part in sport and these come under two categories: School and Educational Facilities Leisure Centres

10 Sporting Links Extra Curricular Clubs at schools encourage sports participation Some of the PE clubs that have run in school time have often carried on to form an Old boys club under they own banners Its seen as a very good image to have pupils playing high standard sport
