About Duty Statements

Understanding your role and knowing your responsibilities is the first step to doing well in any job. When you know what is expected, you can offer the best possible service to your clients and your organisation.

These all mean the same thing: duty statements job descriptions position descriptions.

What are they for? explain the purpose of the work sum up the workers’ role describe the workers’ responsibilities identify who the worker reports to.

When do we use them? when we want to be clear about our responsibilities when a performance appraisal is happening when we are applying for a position.
