Early Supplementation will ensure your animals maintain condition rather than loose it.
If you start to supplement feed too late, you risk having stock loose condition, which results in playing catch up all season.
It is much more cost effective to supplement early and avoid livestock slipping in condition, than it is to try to gain lost condition.

5. SUPPLEMENTING SULPHUR
Sulphur is a key element in ruminant digestion and production.
If cattle or sheep are deficient in sulphur the digestion process is less efficient, resulting in poor feed conversion.
Sulphur stimulates the rumen and helps to optimise feed conversion.

6. SULPHUR & PARASITES
Claims have been made about the medicinal properties of this element.
Anecdotal evidence strongly suggests that Sulphur in higher levels in supplements aids in external parasite control.
There is also evidence that continued use has a positive impact on internal worm burdens.

7. SULPHUR & SORGHUM FEEDING
Sulphur supplements help combat prussic acid toxicity caused by grazing forage sorghum.
By supplementing sorghum grazing stock, you will see a significant weight gain and reduced prussic acid toxicity.
Feeding Four Season’s Sulphur 16 at any stage of the sorghum foraging will be beneficial.

8. SULPHUR 16
Has the highest sulphur content (16%) of any block on the market.
Also contains 20% cotton seed meal, which is a valuable bypass protein.
These two key ingredients combine to make a terrific block to be fed out all year round.
There is a noticeable increase in weight gains of stock on this product at any time of the year.

10. DRY FEED SUPPLEMENTATION
Proteins stimulate the rumen microbes & fungi to help breakdown & digest the dry feed.
Feeding a urea supplement only stimulates the rumen for around 4 hours at a time.
By adding bypass proteins (Cotton Seed Meal) & lupins to our blocks we can extend rumen stimulation by up to 12 hours.
Any feed processed after this period is poorly digested.
The benefit of blocks is that they will usually be licked twice a day. Providing rumen stimulation all day, giving you a better feed conversion & better weight gains.

13. UREA FEEDING Points to Remember:-
High urea supplements require a plentiful supply of roughage at all times.
Urea supplements increase the appetite of cattle, resulting in them foraging further, and eating more.

14. PHOSPHORUS DEFICIENCY
Phosphorous is the most commonly deficient mineral in Australia.
A deficiency in heifers can result in
reduced conception rates, by up to 20%, reduced birth rates by up to 40% and reduced growth rates of those calves.

15. SYMPTOMS
Phosphorous deficiency causes animals to chew bones, twigs, bark & other strange objects. Also known as Pica.
Peg Leg – Stiff, proppy gait & arched back.
Poor growth rates – Animals don’t grow as well as pasture conditions indicate.
Low reproduction rates- Calving rates can be depressed by up to 40%, due to poor growth in young breeders & also poor condition of the breeding herd.
Coat & body condition – Deficient cattle often have a rough coat & are in poor condition. Lactation can cause severe weight loss in cows grazing phosphorus deficient country.
Botulism.

16. WHICH ANIMALS TO FEED
Maiden Heifers, especially as springers and during lactation.
All breeders on acute & deficient country should be supplemented throughout the whole year.
Young cattle need high amounts of phosphorus when growing. Without it, growth rates will be greatly reduced.
