2. SER– to be Use SER to refer to a permanent, or relatively permanent, condition. SER: –states identity and professions (name, gender, job) –describes people and things (height, coloring, weight, beauty, personality) –describes the origin of a person or thing. –Time, date, season

3. ESTAR– to be Use ESTAR to refer to a temporary or current condition. ESTAR: describes location (“My wallet is in my purse.”) describes emotions and physical conditions (I am tired, happy, sad, sick)
