10 The Timeline Sept. 27 - Authorization to bid goes to Board Oct. 3 & Oct. 10 – Bids advertised Oct. 19 @ 10 a.m. – Potential contractors, PSA officials, architects, district officials, principal, construction management officials to meet and walk the site Nov. 7 @ 2 p.m. - Bidding process officially opens Nov. 16 – Bids submitted for Board approval Nov. 17 – Notice to proceed submitted Nov. 28 – Pre-construction meeting on site December – Start project!!

11 Frequently Asked Questions How long will project take? Estimated to take 16 months. When will it begin? Could start as soon as Nov. 28, but probably won’t break ground until Dec. 2011 Which buildings will be done first? The actual phasing has yet to be planned, but the Library and Kinder buildings will break ground simultaneously. The project will be phased so that all vital areas/functions on site will not be impacted. New areas will not be relocated until the new facility is open and ready. Will heavy/loud work happened during school hours? It is inevitable, yes. The management company in charge is very experienced at school construction. They will know how to do the work in a way that minimizes impact on instruction.

12 Frequently Asked Questions (page 2) How will student safety be maintained during construction? All work areas will be fenced off and clearly marked. Workers will have their own office, break and restroom areas. They will have no contact with students during construction. How can the school and community be involved with the project? Mr. Chan will meet with the construction manager on a weekly basis. Mr. Chan will form a committee of staff members and parents who will meet with the project manager at regular intervals.
