2. Topic 2: Lines
A draftsman uses many different kinds of lines. Each kind of line has a different meaning.
The different line types we use are also industry standards.

3. Topic 2: Lines Line types: Visible Edge Invisible Edge (Hidden Lines)
Center Lines
Projection Lines
Dimension Lines

4. Topic 2: Lines Visible Edge Lines:
Edges of an object which you can see when you look at the object.
They are drawn with solid lines are darker pencil lines and medium thickness

5. Topic 2: Lines Invisible Edge (Hidden Lines):
Edges of an object which you cannot see when you look at the object.
They are drawn with short dashes and are always light pencil lines and thin lines.

6. Topic 2: Lines Center Lines:
Are used to show the centers of circles and round objects.
They are drawn with long dashes alternating with short dashes and are always light and thin lines.

7. Topic 2: Lines Projection Lines:
Are used to connect parts of one view of an object with corresponding parts of another view of that object.
They are drawn with long dashes and very light lines.

8. Topic 2: Lines Dimension Lines:
Are used with figures (numbers) and arrowheads to show the sizes of an object.
They are always drawn with light thin lines.
