Cause CDC is caused by the deletion of the 5 th chromosome in the DNA chain. A parent may be a carrier if they have a partially dissolved 5 th chromosome.

Symptoms Low birth weight Wail like a cat (high pitch) Mental Retardation Webbing of toes and fingers

Physical signs The skull will have an abnormal angle at its base Low mussel tone Webbed fingers and toes

Cure / Treatment At this time there is no known cure for CDC but around ½ of those afflicted are able to gain sufficient communication skills to get by but need assisted living all their lives.
