5  Step 1: Immigrants must make a Declaration of Intention  Step 2: Immigrants must live in the US for 5 years.  Step 3: They must file an application.  Step 4: Immigrants must interview with USCIS.  Step 5: They must pass a citizenship test.  Step 6: Immigrants must make a pledge of loyalty.
