How Myths are Created Myths are created in some different ways. Sometime somebody has nothing better to do than to make up a crazy story and claim it’s true. Another more common reason is that a story is passed down, growing more different every time. Maybe a story of part of a barn’s roof getting ripped off turns into a whole barn being lifted off the ground and being carried halfway across town.

Myth 1 Flying Horses !! A hurricane in Great Bend Kansas flew five horses half a mile to the next town. The horses were still attached to the same fence. True or false?
