2 Minimize Minimize refers to reducing a window to an icon, or a label at the bottom of the screen in your task bar, while allowing another window to be viewed. The minimize button is found in the upper right-hand corner of the window.

3 Multitasking In a computer operating system, multitasking allows a user to perform more than one computer task, such as the operation of more than one application program, at a time.

4 Maximize You maximize a window by enlarging it to its largest, or maximum size. The maximize button is found in the upper right-hand corner of the window.

5 URL URL is the abbreviation for Uniform Resource Locator, which refers to the global address of resources available on the World Wide Web. A URL is commonly referred to as a web address.

6 Spreadsheet A spreadsheet is a computer application program that captures, displays, and manipulates data arranged in rows and columns. An example of a spreadsheet program is Microsoft Excel.

7 Web Browser A Web browser is a software application used to locate and display Web pages. Two of the most popular Web browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.

8 Restore When you restore a screen you return a window to its original size. The restore button is found in the upper, right-hand corner of the window.

9 Web Address Parts http (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) refers to the set of rules for transferring files (text, graphic images, sound, video, and other multimedia files) on the World Wide Web. www refers to the World Wide Web, which is all of the resources and users on the Internet that are using the HTTP, or Hypertext Transfer Protocol.

10 Web Address Parts gov is an example of one of the top-level domain names that describes the entity owning the domain name. gov indicates that the owner of the site above is a branch or agency of the U.S. Federal government. Another example of a common top- level domain is com, which indicates commercial ownership. An example of a second-level domain name is “whitehouse” in whitehouse.gov

11 Web Address Parts edu is another common top-level domain name that indicates ownership by an educational institution. org is one of the generic top-level domain names that can be used when choosing a domain name. It generally describes the entity owning the domain name as one that does not fit into other categories. org is commonly used by non-profit organizations.
