Bessie Coleman is a very brave person. She is the first black woman aviator and the first woman to have her International aviation license.

Bessie Coleman was born on January 26th 1892. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She was alive when the Industrial revolution took place. The Pacific railroad was in the making when she was alive

Bessie Coleman lived in her childhood home, Atlanta,Georgia. In 1894, she moved with her family to a small farm 30 miles south of Dallas to a town named Waxahache. They lived in a very small cottage.

Bessie Coleman’s most important accomplishment is that she the first black woman aviator. She is also the first woman to own an International Aviation license.

Bessie Coleman’s inspiration came from many different places. One is from when she was little, she read about the air war in Germany and decided to become an airplane pilot when she grew up. She was fascinated by airplanes. Another place where she got her inspiration from is of the books she read about airplanes.

Bessie Coleman had to overcome many obstacles. Some of them are that she had two strikes against her when she wanted to enter flying school, she was criticized by the press, and when she completed one term of school, her family ran out of money. She had to work two jobs to earn her tuition money. Since the flying school wouldn’t accept her application to that school, she had to go to France to learn how to fly a plane.

Our lives have changed as a result of her bravery because now women have the right to fly planes and get their airplane licenses.

Bessie Coleman died in 1926. She died by falling out of an airplane 500 feet from the ground. She did not have on her seatbelt because she was looking out of the airplane window to study the ground. Bessie Coleman died on impact and broke nearly every bone in her body.
