Did You Know? When they reached the Pacific ocean, they voted on where to spend the winter. York, Clark's slave, was allowed to vote. Sacagawea was also allowed to vote too.

How Far Did The Expedition Travel? The expedition traveled over 8,000 total miles. It took 2 years, 4 months and 10 days. Before they left on the expedition, Clark estimated that the distance one way from the mouth of the Missouri to the Pacific ocean would be 4,162 miles. His estimate was within 40 miles of the actual distance.
