Paul wanted to visit local churches of Christ to encourage them (1 Thess. 2:17 – 3:13), but also to hold them accountable for their actions (2 Cor. 12:14 – 13:2) Pauls presence was discredited by opponents of his own generation (2 Cor. 10:10-11) Paul is not present today, but his inspired words remain in all church buildings where the Bible is still present
