2  History IGCSE skills: Sequencing, synthesising inference, compare and contrasting, cross referencing, categorising statements into causes, events and effects to develop understanding.  For your final exam, you need to answer one question from each section. The exam is 2hours 30minutes long.  Key Terms: hyperinflation, Treaty of Versailles, Kapp Putsch, Dawes Plan, Young Plan, French occupation of the Ruhr, capitalism, communism, revolution, propaganda,,Reichstag, Duma, Provisional Government, Tsar, who were the whites, who were the reds when it comes the Russian Revolution, Bolsheviks, Mensheviks, Schlieffen Plan, Battles of WWI, The nature of Know the roles the various Generals played.

What does this statement mean?  Significance of the election Sep 1930.  Who were the “November Criminals”?  The significance March 1932.  Who gave Hitler his first position in government?  The significance of the Reichstag fire and all its ramifications.  Who was the Nazi propaganda chief.  The Nazi’s favourite form of mass media  The significance of the Olympic games of 1936.  How were women treated by the Nazis.  According to the Nazis, which group of people were responsible for Germany’s future?  The significance of August 1920.  The German car manufacturer that has been around since the Nazi period.  Name of any Nazi resistance groups apart from the Jews of course.  Also please refer to the course outline I provided at the beginning of the year.

4  Name of the last Romanov monarch  According to historians what is his legacy?  Social class groupings of Russia  The name of the influential German Jew that encouraged radical change.  The Social Democratic Party were split into 2 groups can you identify them ?  The religions of Russia.  The various nationalities of Russia.  Was there any discrimination in Russian society?  Significance of the war with Japan 1904-1905?  “Bloody Sunday”. What? When? Why? Where? Who? How?  Role of the Provisional government.  Who were Stolypin? Rasputin? Kerensky? Lenin? Kolchak? Denikin?  Also please refer the course outline I provided at the beginning of the year.

Economic, imperial and military causes of international rivalry  Issues in the Balkan region and the Ottoman Empire demise?  Moroccan crises, the assassination at Sarajevo.  The Schlieffen Plan and why it failed, The trench system, and life, new weapons of war. Reason for the Deadlock. Key features of Somme and Passchendaele. Successes and failures. Responsibility of Haig and other notable Generals.
