WIND ENERGY BY TODOR AND ZACH D

THE HISTORY OF WIND ENERGY The first wind mill Wind power has been used as long as humans have put sails into the wind. Wind-powered machines was used to ground grain and pump water. Wind-powered pumps drained the polders of the Netherlands, and in arid regions such as the American mid-west or the Australian outback, wind pumps provided water for live stock and steam engines. A wind turbine is as loud as 105% lawn mover, 90% blender, 80% vacuum, 50% micro wave and 40% refrigerator Wind power doubled from 2006-2011 but non- reusable power only increased by 12% https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niZ_cvu 9Fts

HOW WIND ENERGY WORKS Wind energy works by wind turbines that turn a motor to create energy. Turbine blades can swivel to speed up, to slow down or to stop. The turbine can rotate depending where the wind is blowing most. https://www.youtube.com/whttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azp3PqnTpn0

GOOD THINGS ABOUT WIND POWER Wind power is going to be here as long as man lives on earth. 1.Wind is a renewable energy source. 2.It’s a clean power source. 3.Small turbines are used to power boats, traffic lights and batteries

THE BAD THINGS ABOUT WIND ENERGY 1.This takes up land and resources 2.Wind turbines make a lot of NOSIE 3.Birds crash into the blades and can die 4.They can damage the environment 5.They can shut down and stop producing energy

THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!!! [or a PANDA!!!!!]
