THE FIELD TEST 8 th Grade – March 17 th to March 26 th 7 th Grade – March 31 st to April 9 th 6 th Grade – April 22 nd to May 1 st Trial run of the assessment system that helps ensure the assessments are valid, reliable, and fair for all students Gives teachers and schools a chance to gauge their readiness in advance of their first operational assessment in spring 2015 All 22 Governing States will participate in the Field Test

4. PARTICIPATION INFORMATION Students in Grades 3 -8 and 11 are required to take both the English Language Arts (ELA)/Literacy and Mathematics Field Test assessments The SBAC-FT will be administered on the computer. There are no paper and pencil versions of the tests.

5. TESTING INFORMATION The SBAC-FT assessments are not timed. The suggested overall testing time is approximately 3.5 hours each for ELA/Literacy and Mathematics Tests will be administered over multiple test sessions of about 60 or 90 minute sessions within the testing window. All assessments will be administered on the computer with the exception of a 30 minute classroom activity each for ELA/Literacy and Mathematics
