Who was the President? William Howard Taft was the President of the United States.

How much was a stamp? A Postage stamp cost two cents.

American Flag The American flag had only 46 stars. Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska had not been admitted as states yet.

School Teachers had to sweep the floor every day and start a fire in the schoolhouse every morning so the room would be warm when the children arrived.
