At the heart of it all… Theory of Knowledge (ToK) The Extended Essay Creativity, Action, Service (CAS)

Whos Who… Candidate – student taking an IB course in preparation for examinations Certificate Candidate: student who takes between one and five IB courses Diploma Candidate: student who takes six IB subjects (one from each part of the Hexagon) and the ToK course, writes an EE, and participates in CAS (3 HLs & 3 SLs)

What does that mean?? Paper – examination Sit a Paper: take an exam Script: student answers to a paper Invigilate: proctor Internally Assessed: marked by the teacher; samples submitted Externally Assessed: maked by an outside examiner

Last, but not least… Externally moderated: same of internally assessed work sent to an outside examiner Standard Level: one or two-year course in which class time is a t least 150 hours Higher Level
