2. The Ursuline Order was founded by Angela Merici in the 16th century. The Ursuline Sisters came to Rybnik in 1922

3. No school – the Second World War and the period 1962- 1982 (due to communist government)

4. The Ursuline uniform has not changed much over the years...

5. After a 20-year break in 1982 the Ursulines reopened the school as a Private Secondary School for girls.

6. In 2003 our school became co-educational

7. Education in Poland Primary School (6 years) Middle School (3 years) Secondary School (3 years) Vocational School University/College

8. Todays Rybnik Ursuline Schools consist of -Middle School (Gimnazjum) -Secondary School (Liceum)

9. 7 classes in Gimnazjum (13-16 year-olds). 7 classes in Liceum (16-19 year- olds)

10. This year there are 400 students in our school.

11. Teaching staff consists of 39 teachers

12. Foreign languages: English German French Latin

17. School library (25000 books)

18. Whenever it is warm enough students have their gym lessons outside

19. Students can always visit the chapel which is used both by the school and the convent

20. We keep in touch with schools from Germany, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Turkey and the UK

23. The exchange with Marienschule in Hildesheim – Germany

26. The exchange with Slavkov u Brna, Czech Republic

27. There are additional activities students take part in- e.g. acting, dancing,
