3. Illustration An illustration is a another word for the drawings. For example the illustrator illustrates the pictures.

4. Author An author is the person who wrote the book. For example HELLEN LESTER is an author.

5. Indent An indent tells you that you are going to start a new paragraph.

6. Headings A heading is something that tells you the topic of that section. Example: Lost Island!

7. A title is the name of the book that your reading. Example: Fish in the Oceans

8. Page number A page number tells you how many pages you read and is located at the corner of the page you are on.

9. Contents The table of contents tells you witch page to go to and what you will find. Example: Chapter 1……..page 6

10. Chapter A chapter is the name of the section your reading. Chapter 6 dolphins Example: chapter 1 dolphins.

11. Italics A word that is slanted tells you that it is a important and that you should use exaggeration. Example: she dreaded the heat He was so stressed The baby dreaded the heat

12. Bold Words A bold word is something that is important for you to know. Example a raccoon Hibernates

13. Labels A label is something that shows what a photo is. Pandas Tiger Example: horse

14. Captions A caption is something that tells you about a picture. Seals love the water. Seals like the sunshine
