A Red state tends to support Republicans for public office A Blue state tends to support Democrats for public office

All but three Governors have been Democrats (Henry Bellmon, Dewey Bartlett, and Frank Keating) Only one Lieutenant Governor was not a Democrat (Mary Fallin) The Senate has always had a Democratic majority (currently 50/50 split but Lt. Gov. Jari Askins, a Democrat, breaks all ties) The House of Representatives has had a Democratic majority, except for 1921-1923 and 2005-Present About 65% of Oklahomas voters are Democrats

Since the Presidential election of 1952, Oklahoma has given its Electoral College votes to the Republican candidate (except 1964) Throughout 1990s all of OKs members in Congress (House & Senate)
