3.  Italy is a developed country, yet, hit by the economic crisis and subject of international controversies as scandals, stereotypes and criminal organisations. My country has a double problem: economic and social.

4.  The first important aspect to analyze is the economic one. Italy is still experiencing serious effects from the 2008 global crisis. My country is one of the PIIGS, which are the five countries seriously hit by the crisis (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain). Such an awesome crisis has many causes, such as corruption and huge debts with foreign governments (loans). Of course, these causes resulted in serious consequences, such as Inflation and bankruptcy.

5.  The second important aspect to analyze is the social one. It can be seen as a consequence of the economic problem. there are two main social problems: unemployment rate in Italy has increased by 2.3% between August 2011 and August 2012. The most important problem is the youth (under 25's) unemployment rate. It indeed rose by 5.6% in one year (EC press release). These data imply another relevant factor faced by Italy in the last period, the brain drain.
