The 10 Commandments
2
What is the story behind the 10 commandments?
Who was Moses? Where did this happen? How was God involved?
3
Who was Moses? Moses – A man God chose to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, known as the Exodus, and into the Promised land of Canaan. Moses was also given the 10 Commandments (set of laws to follow).

Where did this happen? After the parting of the Red Sea, the Israelites had been traveling in the desert for about 3 months (which is a little longer than regular summer holidays) when they came to Mount Sinai. Moses went up Mount Sinai to speak with God and this is where God gave him the 10 commandments – laws God wanted Moses and the rest of the Israelites to follow.
5
How was God involved? God wanted to instruct the people on how to live. By following His rules they would have less sadness in their lives. God wanted to protect them.
