An acid-base neutralization reaction is one in which: a base is used to neutralize an acid by raising the pH or an acid is used to neutralize a base by lowering the pH.

4
Corrosion is when metals react with water and oxygen and deteriorate over time. There are many ways that people try to prevent the chemical reaction of corrosion.
5
Methods of Protecting Against Corrosion: plating, painting and application of enamel reactive coatings anodization cathodic protection
6
Greenhouse gases Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are gases in the atmosphere that trap energy from the sun. Naturally occurring GHGs include water vapour, ozone, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O). Greenhouse Gasses:

Acid deposition Acid deposition (also called acid rain) is caused by emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. Acid rain is caused by burning coal to produce electricity, from base- metal smelting and from fuel combustion in vehicles. Did You Know? It has been estimated that acid rain causes $1 billion worth of damage in Canada every year.
8
The two principal ways individuals can help reduce emissions are by: reducing the amount of energy used in the home (energy efficiency) reducing the stress your driving habits put on the environment.
9
Technologies that are related to reducing are: e.g. energy-efficient appliances, hybrid cars, solar, hydro, wind and geothermal power plants.
