4. Microwave Oven What? A microwave oven is a kitchen appliance that heats food by dielectric heating. This is accomplished by using microwave radiation to heat polarized molecules within the food. Who? Percy LeBaron Spencer (9 July, 1894 – 8 September, 1970) was an American engineer and inventor. He became known as the inventor of the microwave oven. Where? America When? 1941 Why? Microwave oven is invented so that people in rush will cook faster and heat left over foods.

5. Radio What? The transmission of sounds or signal by electromagnetic waves through space, without wires, to a receiving set. Who & when? Gugliegmo Marconi was an Italian inventor, and was (at first) credited with the invention of the radio, but he was later proven to have used 17 of Nikola Tesla's patents. In 1943, the radio patent was given to Nikola Tesla for radio transmission. Why? To meet the need and to communicate over distances. Later, it was adapted for other uses, such as news and entertainment, but its primary purpose was for communication for people such as ships' captains.

6. Computer What? An electronic device that processes data in accordance with programmed instructions. Who? English mathematician Charles Babbage (1792–1871) designed a mechanical computing machine called the "analytical engine." Where? London, England When? 1837 Why? Computers were made to do the very tedious computations of everyday life and business.

7. Telephone What? An instrument for transmitting speech at a distance, specially by means of electricity. Who? Alexander Graham Bell, a Scottish-born inventor, scientist, philanthropist and a teacher, is the person most widely credited as the inventor of the electric telephone. Where? Salem, Massachusetts When? March 7th 1876 Why? To allow communication between two distant people.
