From 16 on, however, numbers start following some patterns, much like they do in English. Sixteen is dieciséis, which is actually a contraction (shortening) of diez y seis, or "10 and 6". Seventeen is diecisiete, or "10 and 7", and so on. Much like the "teens" in English - fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, etc. Target: Use numbers to 30

¿Cuál página? Get out a book. Take turns with a partner playing Page Hunt. Here’s how you play: Primer Compañero: “Abre a la página _____.” Segundo Compañero opens to that page. TRAMPOSO ALERT!: You MAY NOT have your partner open sequential pages! The team that finds the most pages correctly in 1 minute wins! Target: Use numbers to 30

21-30 20 Veinte 21 Veintiuno 22 Veintidós 23 Veintitrés 24 Veinticuatro 25 Veinticinco 26 Veintiséis 27 Veintisiete 28 Veintiocho 29 Veintinueve 30 Treinta Twenty in Spanish is veinte. Twenty-one is veintiuno (a contraction of veinte y uno or "twenty and one"), 22 is veintidós ("twenty and two"), and so on. Twenty (veinte) is the only number that allows this contraction. Starting at thirty (treinta), all numbers are made by combining the 10's and the 1's words via y, like this: 31 is treinta y uno, 38 is treinta y ocho (literally "thirty and 8"). This pattern holds for all of the numbers 31 through 99. Here are some examples: 33 - treinta y tres 45 - cuarenta y cinco 51 - cincuenta y uno 66 - sesenta y seis 72 - setenta y dos 89 - ochenta y nueve Target: Use numbers to 30

Time to play “Buzz”! Make a large circle around the perimeter of the room. Remain standing. Target: Use numbers to 30

How to play “Buzz” We count in Spanish 1 – 39, one person says one number. The next person, the next number. Ex: Person 1 says “uno” the next person says “dos”. We continue around the circle. Target: Use numbers to 30

How to play “Buzz” Every time we hit a multiple of 3 (3, 6, 9…) or a number with three in it (13 and 23 for example) you need to say “buzz” – NOT the number. The person after the buzz picks up where we left off. Sample: Uno, Dos, Buzz, Cuatro, Cinco, Buzz Target: Use numbers to 30

How to play “Buzz” You miss, you’re out! Sit down. We start with the next person, who begins again with “uno…” Mulligan for taking off one shoe. Out of shoes? Out of the game. Target: Use numbers to 30
