2. Initiatives Underway CLS – badly in need of so very much. List covers all needs from a wide assortment of school / education needs Chairs, tables, library materials, computers, furniture, ceiling fans, pre- school equipment, library needs, English, Spanish, French language learning CDs, dictionaries, encyclopedias, musical instruments, office equipment, good sewing machines, cloth for sewing, strong khaki clothes for uniforms, basic carpentry tools, whatever is needed to teach an electrical class, whatever is needed to teach car mechanics, wood (horribly expensive there), etc. etc. I have a comprehensive list, if needed

3. We will be back….(key people; point people) Met with key people: CCC – will act as sponsor and is a not-for-profit organization (501.3c)? CLS – need ‘letter of Intent’ saying what is needed, how it will be used, where it will be used, etc. Dean of CCEC – for funding – next week UNF Property Manager – for equipment Can get chairs, etc. Will be looking for many items. Has the inventory and legal know how Technical support wizards: Can get currency computers, incredible amounts of free software including tons of free educational software (covers science, English, mathematics, social studies, etc…) These guys will set up a lab at UNF, wipe the computers initially, load software images on all computers, test, validate, etc. and ensure reliability….

4. We will be back….Some logistical needs… Met with: Little things like keyboards – now have a solution. Mouses? Not yet, but probably have a solution. Suspect UNF will get a team of at least one tech wizard, a student or two and me coupled with (I suspect) one or two from Chets who also know the layout and needs to travel to Haiti to do the work Biggest concern today – a container to load over time and ship to Port Au Prince. But there are potential helps that need exploration UNF has shipped supplies to South Africa; Chets also has contacts; Other missionary groups have contacts. We are not breaking new ground, so we are looking for precedent.

5. We will be back…Financial Financially, Other than the containers / shipping, which is under investigation and may be a substantial cost, Funds to send a small group down to Haiti – won’t be much. I think UNF will pay for UNF people – perhaps three or four individuals For travel, food, basic supplies (shots…) I think Chets will pay for one or two Chet’s members (I am guessing…) to help out. Personnel costs are not much. Materials will be accumulated, stored, set up, and provided. We will NOT send junk or things that do not work!! We may need some small amounts of cash to purchase some key items, such as some small carpentry tools, and things like that – but not too much.
