OUR PROJECTS GENES AND DNA
2
HOW DID WE START?
3
Paragraph headings We went through the Biology File, read the text, looked up new words and answered the questions.

What did we do after that? We examined how GENES ”worked” in our families. We closely looked at hair colour, eye colour and glasses. We had to ask our parents about their parents – homework . We drew pictures, coloured them and stuck them on the board. We talk and talk and talk…

…AND WE CAME TO THESE RESULTS

GlASSES According to DNA, parents should not have had glasses, but they have. It would be interesting to find out, whether great- grandparents had glasses or not. Now it looks like glasses will be inherted from generation to generation. RESULTS

HAIR COLOUR Mother’s father had brown hair. His wife had also brown hair. Their daughter has blond hair. It is interesting. One of her relatives must have had light hair. Father’s father had light brown hair. His grandma had fair hair. Their son has dark brown hair. Sisters have dark brown and blond hair.

EYE COLOUR RESULTS Genetics in the family operates according to scientific assumptions.
