2 Who We Are KIND Mission: To provide high quality, affordable dental care for Colorado children in need

3 Who We Are KIND: Offers volunteer and paid dental professionals to provide prevention services to children in need Services include exams, cleanings, restorative treatments, orthodontics and emergency care Families pay a small percentage of the total cost of services

4 Who We Are No child is ever turned away based on their familys inability to pay Qualifying families pay $20 per appointment, plus a percentage of the total value of services Example: $150 treatment costs a total of $50 to $65

5 Who We Are Has provided care to Colorado children for nearly a century Goal in 2007: to create 7,000 smiles! (through patient visits)

6 A Look Back KIND was formed in 1912 A group of Denver dentists began to offer care to children of low-income miners and railroad workers

13 Our Volunteers More than 275 volunteer dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, pedodontists, orthodontists, oral surgeons and administrative volunteers

14 Our Volunteers Quality of care consistent with American Dental Association guidelines Donate time and talent at the KIND dental facilities, private practices, Miles For Smiles and Chopper Topper programs

15 KIND Needs Relies on charitable donations, planned gifts, and in-kind donations such as dental supplies Contributions from foundations, corporations and individuals Uses nearly 90 percent of all contributions for programs directly serving children

16 KIND Needs Donations can be made directly on www.kindsmiles.org Donations can also be mailed to the KIND office Planned gifts: including bequests, life insurance and real estate
