3  Newborn Network combined reporting for neonatal deaths – quarterly  Common proforma to look for recurring themes  Maternity Network to discuss concept of common reporting of perinatal deaths  Fiona Cross-Sudworth will discuss a Midlands Project to do this and some results from participants

4  Do we intervene to much during childbirth when risks are low?  2 speakers: Angela Lycett will look at hypno birthing as an alternative to medical analgesia, and Wendy Tyler examines the training aspects for staff running stand alone Midwife led Units

5  Maternity commissioning changes in April 2013  Rarer conditions in pregnancy may be funded separately, but within a pathway across groups of hospitals or networks – advise to the Commissioning Board from National Clinical Reference group  Professor Marian Knight from NPEU will present outcomes of research on rare and severe diseases in pregnancy from a national perspective

6  Mothers transferred ‘in utero’ present organisational challenges. Viviane Hall will talk to us about how the North West have addressed these with a central cot bureau.  IUT outcome data is being collected from most units – what happens to mums after the IUT? Dr Vanner and Mary Rooney have an update on the latest figures for over 200 transfers in

8  Dr Andrew Gallagher will give a presentation discussing latest evidence surrounding the timing of cord clamping at birth.  We will have the usual presentation of Posters submitted to the conference with oral presentations just before lunch.  Maternity Network planning meeting immediately after the final presentation
