Academic questions/enquiries Academic expectations For each 6 ECTS subject at Comillas, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design. Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines. A student normally has 30 ECTS per semester.

4. Academic questions/enquiries An exchange student should have between 24 and 30 ECTS depending on THE HOME UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS! Grading scale : In Spain, the marks go from 1 to 10, 10 being the maximum mark. The majority of Spanish students are between a 6 and an 8. CLASS ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY. If you don´t go to class and don´t give good reason for not going to the teacher, they will not let you take the exam and you could receive a mark called NOT ATTENDED/ WITHDRAWN.

5. Class and exam period First semester classes start on the 1st September and they finish on the 19th (including the exam period). Second semester classes start on January 12, and will end including the exam period May 22nd. There is a resit period of exams for those students who may fail the exams from the 15th June till 26th June. They will have to get in touch with the coordinator (Patricia Vázquez) to inform her that they want to retake the exam. IT IS THE STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO STAY FOR THE WHOLE DURATION OF THEIR EXCHAGE. WE WILL NOT CHANGE THE DATES OF EXAMS UNLESS THE STUDENT HAS TWO ON THE SAME DAY AND AT THE SAME TIME.

6. Class selection All students can take anual and semestral classes. If you are a student coming only for a semester, you can take annual classes, but you will only receive half of the total year credits available. If you are an annual student and you choose to take an annual class, you can not opt out of this class in the second semester; you must complete the course. Students who come from English speaking Universities will have preference when it comes to classes taught in English.

7. Confirming course selection During the first two weeks of classes, students have the opportunity to attend classes they wish to take before making a definitive choice. Students can drop and pick-up classes according to what suits them best. You will be able to make changes up until the 14th September (1st semester), January 25th (2nd semester) We will not allow changes of any kind after that date.

If you want to delete a course click en eliminar and you will be able to add and drop till september 14th (1st semester) and till January 25th (second semester) Si quieres eliminar un curso tienes que hacer click en eliminar. 16. 16 FASE III 7.- Si tienes ya tus datos de contacto en España y/o tu seguro médico deberás rellenar la fase III, en caso contrario la deberás cumplimentar una vez que llegues a ESPAÑA 7.- If you already have your contact data in Spain and/or your health insurance then you must complete phase III, otherwise you will have to fill it out once you arrive in Spain.
