How does sport journalism genre books differ from books with gonzo journalism? # 1 Sports journalists spend hours following a sporting event (Lad) A journalist has to report all facts and stats related to that event and Interview a celebrity sport star (Lad) Although sports-lovers watch the live coverage, there are many people who still read or watch details about the event (Lad) covers many aspects of athletic competition ("Types Of Journalism.“) Sports journalism in the US is traditionally written in a looser and opinionated tone, and is more creative than traditional journalistic writing("Types Of Journalism.“)

Question #1 Continued Gonzo journalism- known for its forceful style and violent language ("Types Of Journalism.“) Attempts to show many discipline perspectives on a certain story ("Types Of Journalism.“) The stories can range from culture, sports and political ("Types Of Journalism.“) Much of gonzo journalism is found in many different magazines Ex. Rolling stones magazine ("Types Of Journalism.“) Known for breaking some major journalism rules by blending fact with fantasy, often uses first person point of view (Gonzo Journalism)

When did sports journalism first come about? #2 A time period known as the Golden age of sports (Smith) Decade between World War 1 and the great depression (Smith) In 1920’s as stadiums were built fans got more into it making the newspaper cover more sports which increased popularity of the newspaper (Smith) As sports continued to increase in popularity, during the golden age was when sportswriters began to emerge (Smith) In 1950’s people got so into sports using the Radio or paying to see the game that a magazine called Sports illustrated evolved which was a magazine full sports journalism writing (Smith)

Question #2 continued Sports writers were mocked in early days for not being serious writers but now are involved in an industry worth billions (Mcquillen) mocked to now making billions with sports journalism writing now on the internet, television, radio, newspaper, movies and magazines (Mcquillen) They say that the very beginning of sports journalism began with horse racing (Mcquillen) Then it went from horse racing to boxing and how people enjoyed watching and hearing about the fights that two men had between each other (Mcquillen) Sports illustrated magazine changed from week to week as the writers tried different ways of sports journalism until they found a way that the public enjoyed the most (Mcquillen)
