3 Cons Slim-hole Production tubing options limited to either 2 1/16 IJ or 1 ½ or coil tubing Limited Artificial Lift Options. Conventional Cost to Drill Completion cost

4 Artificial Lift Methods for Slim-Hole Compression –Lowers Critical Rate –Increases Production (usually) –Reduces Hydrate tendency –Increases other forms of lift options May not help unless post compression rate is greater than critical.

5 AL Methods Continued Plungers –Continuous flow plungers popular in slim hole but require velocity –Casing Plunger experience is limited at this time. –Conventional must be operated similar to Packer completions and must have significant GLR to produce (1000 scf/bbl/1000ft)

6 AL Methods Continued Cap Strings w/ Surfactant –Plugging has been an issue –Can be used in conjunction with bottom hole pressure equipment to measure Flowing bottom hole pressure. –Has not been automated much but it is considered to be an option. Velocity Strings –Considered the easy option as there is relatively little operator effort needed if above critical. –Corrosion can be a concern. –Seamless is a good option for future plunger lift.

7 AL Methods Continued Rod Pump –Pump up 2 1/16 tubing with small rod string up to 30 bpd. –1 Rod Pumps (actuate the tubing string) produce up the tubing string. –Limited experience but could be a good way to go check into work done by EOG.
