The information contained herein is subject to change without notice. 2 Automatically monitor events and open incidents An application owner who has just received ownership of a new project may want to:  Monitor the new project.  Automatically open incidents according to the online monitoring status.  Ensure that notification is received about such opened incidents, both to himself and to the people who are responsible for the fix as well.

BSMUCMDB Browser An event arrives at OMI 10 The event is checked against rules 11 Incidents lifecycle begins 12 Search for the business application 13 View an incident 14 View application availability and status 15 Service Manager The event is checked against the automatic incident submission rules, and if it complies, an incident is generated in Service Manager. 11 The automated incidents lifecycle begins in Service Manager. 1212 The application owner uses the UCMDB Browser to search for its business application. 1313 Use the Incidents widget to see that an incident is open. 14 Use the Monitoring widget to see that the application availability and status have been affected. 1515 Understand the business impact 16 Link to event information 17 Use Enterprise Collaboration features 19 Use the Impact widget to understand the business impact of this event. 16 Use a direct link into Service Manager from the Incidents widget to get more information on the nature of the event, including the name of the event’s assignee. 17 See detailed event information 18 Access Service Manager directly from the UCMDB Browser to see additional detailed event information.. 18 Click the Enterprise Collaboration icon to check the current status and expected solution time frame with the event’s assignee. 19
