Training within an activity As well as completing a training programme outside an activity (weight training to improve strength)… We can develop physical fitness through a conditioning approach (through the game) for Individual activities and Team activities

Training within an activity Individual Activity – Badminton Aspect of fitness – Speed Technique developed – overhead clear and net shot

Training within an activity Training exercise: In groups of 3 Partner 1 starts with high serve. Performer moves to back of court to play O.H.Clear Back to ready position Partner 2 plays net shot Performer quickly gets to front of court to return net shot Back to ready position Repeat 5 times

Training within an activity Team Activity – Basketball Aspect of fitness – Cardio respiratory endurance Technique developed – Lay-up

Training within an activity Training exercise: Continuous dribbling full length of court. Perform lay-up and collect rebound. Dribble to other basket, perform lay-up and collect rebound. Repeat for 10-15mins. Note: we must work within our training zone

Training within an activity Advantages of training within the activity: Improve physical fitness and technique at the same time Increase in motivation when training through the activity Practice is realistic – performing the skill when you are fatigued (tired)
