What Does the Lord Require of You? (Micah 6:8)
2
Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
3
Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
4
Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? God’s righteous demands of Israel, spoken to the prophet Micah
5

6
Luke 11:42 But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
7
Proverbs 21:3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
8
Micah 6:6-7 With what shall I come before the LORD, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old? 7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? Sacrifice alone is not enough!

To Do Justly –Fairness & justness are hallmarks of integrity that separate Christians from the world –Luke 11:42; Proverbs 21:3; Micah 6:6-7 To Love Mercy –Mercy comes from a heart that sees distress and responds with compassion –Matthew 5:7; Psalm 41:1; Colossians 3:12
10
Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. We can not expect to enjoy the mercy of God if we ourselves are not merciful to others
11
Psalm 41:1 Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
12
Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.

What Does the Lord Require of You? 14
James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Proverbs 3:34; 15:25
15
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
16
1 Timothy 6:9-10 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. The pursuit of riches an object lesson regarding the dangers of Pride
17
1 Timothy 6:17-19 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
18
Conclusion God’s righteous requirements are our responsibility. What He requires, we must do. Will you?
