Master Theses in SE @ BTH * 1 examiner for all theses * 1 supervisor + 1 Faculty Reviewer / thesis * 2 students / thesis (1 only if top student) * 20-30 theses / year * 4 rubrics for grading & quality * Proposal, Thesis, Project, Presentation * Only 10-25% in industry

Research Methodology * 7.5 point course, last period of year 1 (lp4) * 14 lectures on methods and writing * 3 tasks: 1. Theoretical on RM sub-area (lit search, statistical methods,...) 2. Writing a research proposal (same as in thesis) 3. Writing a 6-8 page paper based on proposal

What we've learnt so far * Changes/Improvements in last year: * Harder deadlines, more structure/rules * Rubrics for clarifying requirements * Web page to clarify everything (simpler than prev. specs) * Require to work in pairs * Results: * Better proposals and thesis * Fewer bad thesis * But somewhat fewer people finish
