2 Rosh Hashanah traditional foods Rosh Hashanah is the birthday of the Jewish year. One of the traditions is dipping apples and challah in honey. Another traditional food is pomegranate. We also eat fish heads. We eat fish heads because it’s the head of the year. There's also the round challah.
