Restore and Improve Rainwater Harvesting Systems
15,360 (2,500 Lt) rain water harvesting tanks to 79 islands Guttering and pipes to be provided for householders to install their own rain harvesting Distribution period: being completed this month up to 50,000 beneficiaries Joint AmRC / IFRC community mobilisation activities planned to boost installation rates This presentation is designed to assist a facilitator to do a Logistics presentation to people who are involved in Disaster response (we are using this presentation for FACT Workshops and ERU team leader Workshops) The main elements are: 1.- To explain how the Federation defines the term logistics and which functions it includes. 2.- To describe how the logistics department relates to other departments especially in the context of Emergencies 3.- To explain what people have to do if they want logistics to procure items and who is authorised to sign for what. 4.- To inform about the Emergency items catalogue (you will find the presentation in Logistics standard CD Rom under Logistics preparedness) and standardisation in general. This power point presentation is used independently and can be delivered in about 3 hours

Desalination Unit and Distribution System
Supply and install 10 cbm/day Reverse Osmosis (RO) units, and construct complimenting distribution systems on 20 islands. Sanitation Facilities in New Housing
Islands – K. Guraidhoo, K. Maafushi, D.Kudahuvadhoo and L. Gann New housing and infrastructure to be provided to the Internally Displaced People (IDP) Houses to include septic tanks that will connect to a small- bore sewer system and outer reef outfalls Program period = dependant on new housing program, likely to finish mid 2007 7,000 beneficiaries – IDP and existing communities
