Introduction of National Association of the Physical Disabled- Nepal (NAPD-Nepal) Established in 1997 under the Country Act of Nepal which is non-for-profit making, non-political and self motive organization by and for the Persons with physical disabilities. Vision- A country where people with physical disabilities live in an inclusive, barrier free environment with access to human rights, rehabilitation and an independent and respected life.

Mission NAPD-Nepal exists to listen to people with physical disabilities, to support them in solving their problems, to advocate and lobby for their human rights, to remove physical barriers that stop them accessing education, employment and health facilities and to increase awareness of the causes of physical disability.

Objectives To identify the problems and needs of People with Physical Disabilities (PwPDs) through different means and work accordingly to resolve it. To broaden social awareness of PWDs issues strongly and effectively to ensure equal human rights and duties are met. To explore appropriate programs to create proper opportunities for the PwPDs, To advocate the UNCRPD-2006 in favor of PwPDs to the concerns agencies and increase the inclusion of PwPDs into mainstream society. To enhance the capacity building mechanism for activists and NAPD-Nepal employees in the process of organizational development. To rehabilitate and strengthen the economic status of PwPDs through several types of income generating programs. To improve the access of education for all PwPDs. In order to work against the challenges of PwPDs issues, execute programs cooperatively and collaboratively.

Major issues of Accessibility Accessibility in terms of Public Physical Infrastructures, Transportation, Law, Policy and ICTs Implementation???????????? In Nepal, None of the physical infra-structures like Public Buildings, Government offices, Schools/Colleges, Hospitals, Supermarkets, Business Complex,Road, Housing, Water Sanitation,Public Transportations and ICTs Sectors etc.

Current Status: Existing policies and practices and relevant data/information CRPD Article-9 To enable PWDs to live independently and participate fully in all aspects of life, States Parties shall take appropriate measures to ensure to PWDS access, on an equal basis with others, to the physical environment, to transportation, to information and communications, including information and communications technologies and systems, and to other facilities and services open or provided to the public, both in urban and in rural areas.

Focus in CRPD Principles Articles-2 Definition "Universal design" means the design of products, environments, programmes and services to be usable by all "Reasonable accommodation" means necessary and appropriate modification and adjustments not imposing a disproportionate or undue burden, where needed in a particular case, to ensure to PWDS the enjoyment or exercise on an equal basis with others of all human rights and fundamental freedoms; Articles-3 Principle Accessibility
