Bob Marley’s music was created for a universal audience. His powerful work was meant for all ethnicities, and was not restricted to the Jamaican reggae fans like most of the similar music at the time.

Bob Marley’s message was simple and secular. His lyrics were mostly based upon the teachings of Rastafari. He believed in peace among all races/ethnicities, and freedom from oppression by “Babylon” or the West. “Me only have one ambition, y'know. I only have one thing I really like to see happen. I like to see mankind live together - black, white, Chinese, everyone - that's all.”
