This is the most common type of transition. At the end of an event nod your head slightly, pause your signing, then raise your head to signal the beginning of the next event.

60. Dependent or “when” clauses
This transition happens at the beginning of a sentence and explains when an event happened. This is a time/topic-comment structure, so the eyebrows raise and the head nods downward for the “when” portion, then the eyebrows flatten and head raises during the event explanation. Use this transition to tell about the following:

Preceding event (After graduation, I started working)
Year of event (In 1985, he passed away)
