Demonstration sites boost the interest from academia, applied researchers, SMEs, large companies, investors and the customers. To be member of one or more network is important. Governments (legislation, labelling, BAT, standards) and political leadership should promote the sustainable infrastructure investments in developing countries. SMEs and large companies from different countries can better compete on the world market when they co-operate. European countries will be more resource efficient if we co-operate in the export to the BRIC countries.
