Set up notebooks – follow directions on next slide. Complete word search – turn into sub tomorrow.

Notebook Set Up Write name on inside over of notebook.
Number pages from 1 to 70 back and front. Start on the very first page of the new notebook. Copy Rules and Consequences onto the cover of the notebook. (next slide) Page 1 & 2 Write Table of Contents at the top. Page 3 & 4 Write Goal Sheet at the top. Page 5 & 6 Skip Page 7 & 8 Write “Ch. 3 Warm-up”s at the top. Each day you will begin class with a couple of questions that will review what you learned the previous day. This will have to hold a lot of questions, so please use your space wisely. You should also write the date with each entry. We will start tomorrow on page 9.

Rules & Consequences Rules: Do not disrupt the learning of others.
Always show respect for everyone in the class. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Come to class prepared. No gum in class. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. If it isn’t yours, then do not touch it. Consequences: Step 1 – Warning Step 2 – Silent lunch & Parent Contact (You are calling in class.) Step 3 – Referral to the Principal & Parent Contact

7th Science – Thursday 1/9/14
Open notebook to page 9, and draw a line ½ way down the page. Title the top ½ “Earth’s History – Bellringer” (see slide). Answer the three questions on this page only on the top half of this paper. On the bottom ½ of this page after the line, title it “Anticipation Guide – What do you think?.” You will need to copy the statements just as you see them, so we can go back later and see if you were correct. (see slide) On page 10, write Earth’s History (skip a line), and then copy this EQ: What evidence supports the idea that Earth is very old? Ch. 3 Earth‘s History power point - Copy vocabulary in glossary in back of your notebook. Leave room to fill in definitions later. You will copy notes from the power point above from slides It isn’t that much because the text is very large. You must get this done! You will be able to finish some tomorrow.

7th Science – Friday 1/10/14 Complete the WARM UP slide on page 7 of your notebook. Don’t forget to date your entry. Finish notes from yesterday - Ch. 3 Earth’s History power point. Use notes to complete worksheet titled “Geologic Time – Key Concept Builder pg 17.” It is due at the end of class whether you or done or not. It will be a grade.

7th Science – Monday 1/13/14 Complete WARM UP slide on page 7 of your notebook. Don’t forget to date your entry. The sub will return any incomplete worksheets from Friday, and they should be done first. Then turn back into him/her. Use notes to complete worksheet titled “Geologic Time – Key Concept pg 19.” Yes, they do have the same title, but they are different pages and activities. Turn in before you leave class done or not.
